Are you an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer with a background in BIW, Interior Trim, Body Panels, Composites or Carbon Fibre components within automotive manufacturing?

G&P Quality Management is looking to recruit multiple Automotive Supplier Quality Engineers to support one of our prestigious automotive customers on-site in Woking.

This is an exciting opportunity to join G&P on a permanent basis, working within a high-performance automotive manufacturing environment and supporting a range of vehicle programmes across multiple commodity areas.

About the Role

As an Automotive Supplier Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting supplier quality activities across one or more key commodity areas, including:

• Body-in-White (BIW)
• Interior Trim
• Body Panels
• Composites
• Carbon Fibre Components

Working on-site with our customer, you will play a key role in managing supplier quality concerns, leading containment activities, driving supplier recovery plans and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the supply chain.

You will work closely with Suppliers, Purchasing, Engineering, Manufacturing and Programme teams to ensure quality issues are resolved effectively and that supplier performance meets the standards expected within a high-performance automotive environment.

Whilst this position is being recruited on a permanent basis with G&P Quality Management, we also have contract opportunities available for candidates who would prefer an interim or contract assignment.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Manage supplier quality concerns across assigned commodity areas, including BIW, Interior Trim, Body Panels, Composites and Carbon Fibre Components
• Lead supplier containment activities to protect production and vehicle build
• Manage Controlled Shipping (CSL1 & CSL2) activities through to containment exit
• Drive supplier root cause analysis and corrective actions using 8D, 5 Why and other structured problem-solving techniques
• Coordinate sorting, inspection, rework and third-party containment activities where required
• Monitor supplier performance through PPM, defect trends, quality escapes and recovery metrics
• Act as the key interface between suppliers and internal cross-functional teams
• Escalate supplier risks and provide clear updates on containment status, recovery plans and quality concerns
• Support supplier development and continuous improvement activities to reduce quality risk and improve performance

 

Experience Required

• Proven Supplier Quality Engineering experience within automotive manufacturing
• Experience supporting one or more commodity areas including BIW, Interior Trim, Body Panels, Composites, Carbon Fibre, Exterior Systems or related automotive components
• Previous experience managing supplier containment, supplier recovery and production protection activities
• Strong understanding of Controlled Shipping (CSL1 & CSL2) and supplier escalation processes
• Working knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, 8D and Root Cause Analysis methodologies
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and prioritisation skills
• Experience within OEM, Tier 1, motorsport or high-performance automotive manufacturing environments is highly advantageous
• Must have the independent right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
